  • Join Alex on a NYC Prohibition Tour where we’ll skip the lines at some of New York's oldest pubs and taverns. We’ll look at America’s “Noble Experiment” from all angles, discussing topics like abolitionism, women’s suffrage, and the temperance movement. We’ll also examine 200 years of Progressivism in the United States, and debate which policies have landed on the right, and wrong side of history!

We’ll learn how each Saloon survived prohibition, while enjoying multiple beverages at each Tavern. The fee covers snacks and the first round at each stop, but there is no limit to the number of drinks the group orders. Classic American bar bites are also available at each tavern, with some food having historical connections to the Saloons themselves!

This experience includes a surprise ending, where we’ll imbibe the way so many politicians, artists, musicians, and writers did during prohibition. We’ll be served gin, bourbon, and bitters inside someone’s actual home!

Along the way you'll have plenty of time to ask questions and engage with Alex on any number of topics. Tours are casual, flexible, and fun, so bring your curiosity and an empty belly!

This tour is perfect for individuals, couples, families, or anyone looking to experience New York City’s food, culture, and history in a new way!

  • Alex will meet you at a predetermined location, and the tour will begin. Tours are flexible, and we arrange everything, so you can simply focus on the experience!
